27ème Supercross de Paris Bercy, première soirée : Stewart est bien le boss !
La première des trois soirées du Supercross de Bercy a lancé brillamment la 27ème édition de la classique Parisienne, qui étrennait cette année un nouveau schéma de courses. Et malgré ce changement, la star Américaine James Stewart a apposé sa griffe sur l’épreuve en signant un sans faute et en s’imposant à son compatriote Justin Brayton.

Superpole, course à l’Américaine par élimination, finale classique : quelque soit la course, le vainqueur fut le même, James Stewart. Rayonnant à son arrivée au POPB, le champion du Monde en titre est monté en puissance au fil de la soirée, ne laissant aucune chance à ses rivaux. Qu’il parte en tête ou dans le peloton, l’Américain a fait un récital et donné une belle démonstration de pilotage aux fans qui l’ont acclamé. « L’ambiance est toujours aussi extraordinaire ici, et je suis vraiment heureux d’être là. J’ai eu un peu de mal à me mettre dans le rythme lors de la première séance d’essais, mais j’ai très vite trouvé mes marques avec la piste » confiait-il à l’arrivée d’une finale disputée en deux temps. La course fut en effet stoppée au drapeau rouge suite à une chute de Steve Boniface, alors que James était en tête, et en signant le holeshot au ‘restart’ l’officiel Yamaha filait vers la victoire. Toujours à l’aise à Bercy, Justin Brayton confirmait son aisance sur la piste Parisienne en terminant trois fois dauphin de Stewart et en damant le pion aux pilotes Français ! Benjamin Coisy, Gregory Aranda et Marvin Musquin ont été les plus brillants d’entre eux, Aranda prenant la troisième place de la soirée alors que Musquin montait sur le podium de la finale. Rapide et régulier Greg a été constant alors que Musquin victime d’un problème technique perdait toutes chances en abandonnant dans la course à l’Américaine, avant de finir la soirée sur un joli podium en finale.

The first night of the 27th Supercross of Paris Bercy has been once more exciting, following the tradition of the main European Supercross. The new racing program didn’t affected James Stewart, who won all the races as he did last year, and beats fellow countryman Justin Brayton.
Superpole, American race and traditional main event: for James Stewart it’s always the same story! Relax and smiling when he arrived in the Palais Omnisports, the reigning World Champion took his time to find the good rhythm on the layout and finally didn’t let any chance to his rivals. It was a great night for his fans who cheer him all night long. “The atmosphere is always great here, and I’m happy to be back. The fans were nice to me, and it took me some time to feel comfortable but I did it and won all the races” said James after the main event. He was leading his rivals when the race director put the red flag after a crash of Steve Boniface, but a few minutes later James got another holeshot to win the last race. Always fast in Bercy, Justin Brayton finished three times runner-up and scored a second position overall, followed by the ‘Frenchies’. Benjamin Coisy, Gregory Aranda and Marvin Musquin were the strongest, and it’s finally Greg who finished on the podium of the night. Fast and consistent all night long he beats Musquin, who lost all his chances when he retired in the American race after a technical problem; the MX2 World Champion took his revenge as he scored a great podium in the main event.
