VALKENSWAARD (THE NETHERLANDS), 4 April 2007– In occasion of the FIM Motocross Grand Prix of the Netherlands to take place this weekend, April 5th and 6th, at Valkenswaard, Suzuki decided to present its Motocross racing activities at the GRP (Geboers Racing Promotion) headquarters, in Lommel, Belgium.

The MX1 class -where Suzuki won the 2007 manufacturers’ Title- will see the debut of the fuel injection RM-Z 450 machine, which will feature also a new lightweight chassis. Current MX1 World Champion Steve Ramon and Belgian countryman Ken de Dycker will be onboard the factory machinery of Teka Suzuki WMX1 team. Marvin Van Daele and Pierre Alexandre Renet will be in the Teka Suzuki squad, Brad Anderson will race for the Suzuki Swift Motocross Team and Clement Desalle for Inotec Suzuki.

There is much more news for the MX2 class, where Suzuki wants to come back with the winning style it displayed in the past with riders such as Stefan Everts, Eric Geboers, Akira Watanabe and many more.

SIE (Suzuki International Europe), including the subsidiaries of Spain, Italy, UK, France, Germany and represented by Mr. Bert Poensgen has made a five year plan for the MX2 World Championship class which involves GRP directly, with the latter having created a brand new MX2 workshop inside its headquarters in Lommel.

GRP will supply Suzuki Swift Motocross’ Pascal Leuret and Suzuki Inotec’s Xavier Boog with RM-Z 250 machines, mechanics and logistics while the riders themselves will be taken care of by the two teams.

Suzuki Swift will complete its line up with Jake Nicholls and Elliott Banks Browne; Suzuki Inotec will line up also Daniel Siegl.

The presentation also pointed out that the new sponsor Teka, a German kitchen equipment manufacturer which entered the series in 2007 with Bodo Schmidt’s squad, is willing to get more involved in the sport by becoming the factory team’s main sponsor.

“We have a very strong MX1 line up and we want both to defend our Title with Steve and go for another one!” said Team Manager and five time World Champion Eric Geboers. “This MX2 project has just started, the work we carried out in the last three months was really positive but we want to grow bigger. We have the goal of being World Champions by 2011, we will see, we actually have a very good youngster with us, Ken Roczen, the 2007 FIM Junior World Champion in the 85cc class. We really look forward to Valkenswaard!”
