CHAMPIONNAT DE MOTOCROSS 125 2 TEMPS EN ESPAGNE : JORDI TIXIER INTRAITABLE
MOTOCROSS 125 cc. IN BELLPUIG
The second round of the125cc. 2 stroke Motocross European Championship was held today in Bellpuig (Spain) with good and dry weather.
The French Jordi Tixier (KTM), the winner of the first round in Mantova, was again the winner of the day. In the first heat, he took the lead after 3 laps and won with a distance of 14.3 sec in front of Austrian Pascal Rauchenecker (KTM). Rauchenecker did the holeshot and was for 3 laps in the lead, until Tixier managed to overtake him. Over the whole distance of 14 laps, Belgian Yerki Janviers (TM) held the 3rd position and was 3rd on the podium 28.2 sec. behind the winner. The young Italian David Ciucci (KTM) and the Danish Stefan Olsen (Suzuki) held also their initial positions for the whole race and ended respectively fourth and fifth
In the second heat, Tixier was 4th after lap one but again he showed his strength winning the race in front of French Yohan Lafont (FFM) with 10,7 sec distance and Italian Samuele Bernardini (KTM).
Tixier leads the provisional rankings having now already 100 points, followed by Rauchenecker with 74 points and Ciucci with 70 points.
Next round of the European Championship is scheduled the 6th of June in St.Jean d’Angely (France).
