Holowczyc surfe sur la « Coulée Verte »

Le soleil se couche sur la Cannebière. Du sommet du quartier Saint Antoine, la vue est imprenable. Sur fond de Méditerranée, avec l’île du Frioul et le Château d’If pour seul témoin, la ‘Coulée Verte’ inonde de passion la cité phocéenne. Un bon millier de spectateurs se sont massés sur ce tracé exceptionnel pénétrant presque au cœur de Marseille, pour assister à la Super Spéciale nocturne de ce Rallye de Tunisie 2008. Tracée sur ce domaine de près de 2 hectares, l’ascension technique de plus de deux kilomètres, multipliant les changements de rythme, favorise le pilotage pure et les machines les plus agiles… Vendredi, après la traversée en bateau, c’est donc l’Espagnol Oscar Hernandez (Tot Curses) en moto et le Polonais Krszystof Holowczyc (Nissan Pickup) en auto, qui ouvriront la piste sur le sol tunisien.
Pas très rétro… Holek ! Ancien champion d’Europe des Rallyes, le Polonais Krszystof Holowczyc n’a rien perdu de sa pointe de vitesse, ni de son coup de volant. Le pilote du Nissan Pickup du team Overdrive s’est octroyé cette Super Spéciale marseillaise du Rallye de Tunisie sans le moindre partage. Un rien pressé, ‘Holek’ s’est même arraché le rétroviseur avant gauche pour parvenir à ses fins. Sur la ligne il devance la BMW X5 du Brésilien Paolo Nobre, la Mitsubishi du Russe Novitskiy, récent vainqueur de la Baja de Russie et le Proto Dessoude 05 de Christian Lavieille.
Tot Curses démarre fort. Nos amis Espagnols ne font pas dans la dentelle. Débarqué en force sur le Vieux Port avec un arsenal plus qu’impressionnant, le team Tot Curses s’est adjugé le Spéciale de ce Rallye de Tunisie en catégorie moto. Au guidon de cette moto ‘made in Barcelona’ et dotée d’un moteur Yamaha 450, Oscar Hernandez a volé la vedette au jeune Olivier Pain (Yamaha 450) et à Michel Marchini (Yamaha 450). Quant à Thierry Bethys (Honda 450), compté parmi les favoris, il termine septième…
Des Bowler à la pelle ! Avec quatorze fervents adeptes au départ, Bowler est copieusement représenté sur ce Rallye de Tunisie. Une course dans la course, dont les frères Amaral, Portugais pure souche sont sortis premiers lauréats à l’issue de la Super Spéciale, devant leurs compatriotes Carapeta et Corticadas. Moins heureux, en revanche, Patrick Combe et Bruno Davoust, bons derniers de ce ‘Challenge’, on concédé l’essentiel de leur retard, en prenant… du tonneau, à quelques mètres à peine de la ligne d’arrivée. Remis su quatre roues par des spectateurs compatissants, l’équipage français a pu repartir et finir sans encombre.
Et Puy… Ludivine. Arrivée prudemment au guidon de son impressionnante KTM 690, Ludivine Puy, en a épaté plus d’un, hier sur cette Super Spéciale du Rallye de Tunisie. Vingt-sixième et première femme, la Championne d’Europe d’enduro tenait surtout à éviter la casse avant d’aborder les pistes africaines plus adaptées à sa monture.
La Panda 4×4, clap deuxième. Elles étaient apparues voici deux ans sur le ‘Dakar’ aux mains de Miki Biasion et de Bruno Saby pour un sacré coup de pub. Rachetées par Alfredo Merelli, la ‘petite italienne’ participe lors de ce Rallye de Tunisie, à sa deuxième expérience africaine. Pourvu que, cette fois, elle passe le cap du court métrage…

The sun sets on the Cannebiere, from the top of the St Antoine quarter in Marseilles, the view is breathtaking. In the Background the Mediterranean, with the frioul islands and the Chateau D’If, the “coulee verte” a long strip of green slicing the sand colored city is today offering some passion. As spectators assemble in their hundreds around the track, so as to catch a glimpse of the evening “Super Special” of the Rallye de Tunisie 2008.
On this highly technical ascension over 2 Km in length, full of rhythm changes, Piloting becomes a talent. Friday after the crossing it’s the Spaniard Oscar Hernandez (Tot Curses) on his bike, and Krszystof Holowczyc (Nissan Pickup) who will open the race on Tunisian soil.
Still fighting strong Holek, ex European Rally Champion, the polish competitor Krszystof Holowczyc has lost nothing in speed and steering wheel control. Almost effortlessly the pilot of the Nissan Pickup team offered himself a pole position, in the process ripping off his left rear view mirror. Not far behind: the BMW X5 driven by the Brazilian Paolo Nobre, and the russian Novitskiy,in Mistubishi. Then the Proto Dessoude 05 of Christian Lavieille.
Tot Curses Start on a High. Arriving in force on the vieux port with a massive team, they were first in the bike Category. Oscar Hernandez stole the show on his Yahama 450. Followed by Olivier Pain (Yamaha 450) and Michel Marchini (Yamaha 450). Thierre Bethys (Honda 450) although amongst the favorites ended seventh.
Bowler are well represented in the Rallye de Tunisie, with fourteen followers, a race within a race, the Amaral brothers from Portugal leading the way so far, followed by their compatriots Carapeta and Corticades. Unfortunately for Patrick Combe and Bruno Davoust who got there last, rolling over just meters from the finish line. They were nicely put back on all four wheels by some comprehensive supporters and promptly finished the race.
And Ludivine….. she impressed many on her KTM 690, a prudent 26th, first woman, keeping safe before the African leg.
They’re back ! The 4X4 Panda team, first seen two years ago on the Dakar, driven by Miki Biasion and Bruno Saby, bought over by Alfredo Merelli, the “tiny Italian is participating on their second African Experience.
